||
|
Dear Resident
You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of an attempt burglary that occurred on Cranford Drive on Tuesday 20th January, this occurred in the early hours of the morning around 0200hrs and 02120hrs the method of attack was by ATTEMPTING to snap the cylinder lock to try allow entry.
BETWEEN TIME AND DATE STATED UNKNOWN SUSPECT/S APPROACH LOCUS AND ATTEMPT FRONT DOOR HANDLES. SUSPECT/S THEN GO TO THE REAR AND USE AN UNKNOWN TOOL TO ATTEMPT TO GAIN ENTRY. SUSPECT/S ARE UNABLE TO GAIN ENTRY AND MAKE OFF IN A VEHICLE.
Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between Tuesday 20th January 0150hrs and 0230hrs to check if you had any activations.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101. Thanks
